The Hemisfèric lit up at night, reflected in the water

City of Arts and Sciences

Valencia guide · 3 min read

How to get from Passeig de Neptú to the City of Arts and Sciences and the Oceanogràfic, by bike through the Turia Gardens or by bus.

What it is

A group of white buildings by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela at the end of the Turia Gardens: the Hemisfèric, the Science Museum, the Palau de les Arts opera house and the Oceanogràfic, one of the largest aquariums in Europe.

Getting there

By bus it takes about 20 minutes from the beach area. By bike it is nicer: along the promenade towards the port, then the bike lane to the old Turia riverbed, a park several kilometres long where the river used to run.

With kids

The Oceanogràfic and the Science Museum are the favourites with children. Buy tickets in advance in high season and keep the afternoon for the beach.
